Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher proved yet again that there is no right time for learning as he took a plunge in the pool to learn swimming. The actor in a recent social media post showcased his newly acquired skills and made an interesting revelation from his past. In the post, Anupam Kher stated that he was thrown out of a film 35 years ago for not knowing how to swim.
Anupam Kher said that much before his debut film 'Saaransh', he was roped for a role which required him to swim. The actor lied to the director that he knew swimming presuming that he will learn it by the time they shoot that scene. However, things turned otherwise when the director decided to shoot his first scene in the pool. As he failed miserably to deliver the performance, his lie was exposed and he was thrown out of the film on the first day itself.
Anupam Kher who remained in a distance from the pool since then finally took the plunge after 35 years. The actor took up the swimming challenge and has already had a couple of sessions with his trainer. Sharing a video of him in the pool, Anupam Kher asked 'all the great swimmers of the world' to bless him and said he will make them proud.
After making his Bollywood with 'Saaransh', he has worked in hundreds of films. In fact, he has become a man of international presence over the years. Not only Kher established himself as an A-lister in Bollywood but added more feathers to his cap by working in several Hollywood ventures and international television shows. Anupam Kher's last outing 'One Day' released on July 5. The crime thriller film which also starred Esha Gupta, Kumud Mishra, Nasirr Khan, and Anusmriti Sarkar in the lead was highly appreciated by the audience. Currently, he is working in the American drama series 'New Amsterdam'.
The veteran actor recently launched his autobiography 'Lessons Life Taught Me, Unknowingly'. The cover of the repertoire which was unveiled months back featured a close up of the veteran actor. As revealed by the actor in a post, his book chronicles his life since he was 10-years-old.
The excerpt of the book reads: "A fascinating life story peppered with incredible life lessons that are bound to resonate with every aspiring artiste and, most of all, the common man."
