It was a proud moment for Anupam Kher and Bollywood when he was honored by one of the most esteemed universities in the world, Cambridge. The veteran actor was conferred with the title of 'Distinguished Fellow' by the Cambridge MIT Sloan School of Management. The actor took to Twitter to share the big news and thanked the famous Boston based university for giving him this title. He added that this honour gives him an increased sense of responsibility towards the country and society. Anupam also went nostalgic and confessed that for a lower-middle-class Kashmiri boy, he has done really well for himself. The proud actor also shared pictures of himself from the event where he can be seen holding the frame which has the details of his new title. Here's what he exactly tweeted, "Thank you #IndiaGlobal at Cambridge MIT Sloan School Of Management, Boston for conferring on me #TitleOfDistinguishedFellow. This honour gives me a further sense of responsibility towards my country. A lower middle class Kashmiri boy from Shimla has come a long way. Jai Ho"

Anupam had made headlines recently when he had stepped down as the Chairman of FTII. The veteran actor had taken this decision citing professional commitments with his TV show 'New Amsterdam', which required him to jet back and forth between India and the United States. He had also released an official letter on his social media and had confessed that it will not be fair to students at FTII, hence stepping down was the sensible decision here. The Thespian also noted that working as the Chairman of the prestigious institution was a real learning experience for him.
