Anurag Kashyap shares a list of 2018 films that made him 'Jealous', here's how his fellow filmmakers react

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on Wednesday, January 2, penned down a number of films, released in 2018, that he found 'jealously worthy'.

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is known to be very particular when it comes to things of his interest, to be specific, films. The director on Wednesday, January 2, penned down a number of films, released in 2018, that he found 'jealously worthy'. He took to Twitter and shared a list of films that he claims to have amazingly crafted and it included names like- 'Mulk', 'Badhai Ho', 'Manto', 'Andhadhun', 'Tumbaad', and 'Pataakha' among others. 

In the post he stated that that he doesn't think there has been so many good films made in Hindi in recent times and said, "Hindi films of 2018 that made me jealous - in no particular order. Mulk, Badhai Ho, Manto, Andhadhun, Tumbaad, Mard ko Dard Nahin Hota, Soni, Omertà, October, I don’t think there has been so many good films made in Hindi in recent times. Cheers to us.."

Praising the amazing cinematography of the projects in a round about manner, the filmmaker further stated, "My list is not a “best of” list.It ’s a jealous filmmaker list and it’s because there is something in them ,or them as a whole that makes me rethink , gives me courage , has overwhelmed me and at made me ask myself, “why didn’t I see it that way?”

He also added Radhika Madan, Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover starrer 'Pataakha' to the list, saying, "And Patakha .. forgot to add that to the list .."

Soon after he tweeted, his industry colleagues reacted to his post. While Hansal Mehta asked if he plans to make him cry, Ram Gopal Varma pointed out that Kashyap has spoken like a true filmmaker and an even more true film lover.

Anurag Kashyap whose romantic drama 'Manmarziyaan' starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal released earlier this year, recently reviewed Nandita Das's directorial venture 'Manto'. The director who seems to have watched the film recently gave a huge thumbs up to the project and lauded the direction of the biographical drama in great words. In a number of Tweets, he expressed his feelings about the film and praised lead actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for his spectacular performance.
