  • Both the movies, catering to the family audiences, were earlier slated to release on Dussehera, 19th October.
  • And now the makers of 'Namaste England' have also followed 'Badhaai Ho' and will also release a day earlier, i.e on 18th October.

The country and Indians across the globe are currently celebrating Navratri in the build-up to the festival of Dussehera.  For movie lovers, there's another reason to cheer as they have not one, but two movies to choose from.  'Namaste England' starring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra and 'Badhaai Ho' featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra, are the movies who have chosen the festive period for their releases.

Both the movies, catering to the family audiences, were earlier slated to release on Dussehera itself, 19th October. However, the makers of 'Badhaai Ho' recently had advanced the release date by a day to put up a better total over the weekend and also gain an upper hand on 'Namaste England'. And now the makers of 'Namaste England' have also followed suit and will also release a day earlier, i.e on 18th October. Arjun shared a motion picture on Twitter with Parineeti where they are holding a board to announce the new date and making faces. The clash is surely on again!

The shifting of the release dates reminds us of a similar occurrence during the famous clash between Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' and Hrithik Roshan's 'Kaabil' last year. Both the movies were earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on 26 January, but then the release date of 'Kaabil' was changed by a day earlier. Shah Rukh had followed the Hrithik-starrer to the same date to make it a clash again. When the films released, both 'Raees' and 'Kaabil', there was no clear winner as the movies crossed the Rs 100-crore mark, but neither of the two was a big success. It would now be interesting to see if the battle between 'Badhaai Ho' and 'Namaste England' will similarly be a neck-to-neck affair.

'Badhaai Ho' actor Ayushmann Khurrana is currently riding high on the critical acclaim and commercial success of 'AndhaDhun' and he'd surely be looking to make it two in a row. Sanya was  appreciated for her at in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Pataakha.'

Fans are also keen to see 'Namaste England' as it's bringing back Arjun and Parineeti after a gap of six years. Moreover, as they are taking forward the 'Namastey London' franchise by stepping into the shoes of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, naturally raises expectations from them.
