Ashwini Iyer to direct film based on Infosys' Narayana Murthy

A film based on the lives of NR Narayana Murthy, the co-founder of IT firm Infosys, and his wife, author Sudha Murthy, is reportedly in the pipeline. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Tuesday announced in a Twitter post that Nil Batttey Sannata director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari will be directing a film based on the life of the Murthys. Adarsh added that the film will be co-produced by Nitesh Tiwari and Mahaveer Jain. He added that the film was titled 'Murthy'. 

All about Narayana Murthy and his wife Sudha Murthy

Narayana Murthy co-founded tech giant Infosys in 1981 with six other software professionals. Reportedly, his wife Sudha Murthy had provided them with an initial capital of Rs 10,000. Murthy served as the CEO of Infosys from 1981 to 2002, and as a chairman from 2002 to 2011. He retired from the board in 2011 and became Chairman Emeritus of Infosys.

His wife, Sudha Murthy is an engineering teacher and author in Kannada, Marathi and English. She is the former chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. She also serves as a member of public health care initiatives of the Gates Foundation. She was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2006.

Ashwini Iyer Tiwari's directorial will chronicle the story of Narayan Murthi and Sudha Murthy and would reportedly depict the struggles and achievements of their contributions to the Indian economy. Even though no other details about the film has been revealed so far, fans on Twitter have expressed their excitement for the film based on the tale of the Murthys. 

Meanwhile, Ashwini Iyer shared a photo with Sudha Murthy on Instagram and wrote, " ...I keep dreaming that eventually I would want to lead a life like Narayan Murthy & Sudha Murthy. The life choices. Their honest life with integrity is my biggest inspiration. I am filled with humble gratitude to make Murthy. They have trusted me with their iconic story and i can only pray that I keep up to their expectations. This is more than a film.This is life.Thank-you Mahaveer ji for being the binding force. "
