Before making his debut in Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor, Ayushmann had appeared and won in the season 2 of the reality TV show Roadies. He then started appearing as a radio jockey and host on various shows on MTV channel. Ayushmann got his break in Bollywood with Vicky Donor. The movie was a success with fans, possibly owing to its quirky theme of sperm donation.

Unfortunately, after Vicky Donor, his movies Nautanki Saala, Bewakoofiyan, and Hawaizaada weren’t much of a success at the box office. Khurrana then bounced back with Dum Laga Ke Haisha costarring Bhumi Pednekar.

The year 2017 proved to be very successful for the Dream Girl actor. He starred in Bareilly ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Savdhaan, and both became huge blockbusters at the box office. His 2018 releases were Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho, which were largely loved by the audience and have also won many awards. Shubh Mangal Savdhaan dealt with the theme of erectile dysfunction, while Badhaai Ho looked at the concept of late pregnancy. All these offbeat scripts were successful in attracting audiences towards watching these movies.
