The prevalence of the casting couch in the film industry is not a debatable topic anymore, with more and more actors coming in the forefront to open up about their harrowing experiences. Not long ago, there was a global outcry on the sexual allegations against Hollywood star Harvey Weinstein. The allegations gave rise to popular #MeToo campaign, that encouraged several people to open up about sexual harassment. It caught on with Bollywood as well, when actresses including Swara Bhasker, Radhika Apte and Kalki Koechlin too shared their experiences with the casting couch.  Meanwhile, in the south, actress Sri Reddy made headlines after she accused several prominent names in Tollywood and Kollywood for casting couch.

However, this is not limited to women in the film industry, but men too have been victims of the casting couch. In 2015, actor Ranveer Singh had revealed that he too had experienced casting couch firsthand, when a prominent filmmaker tossed aside his portfolio and instead tried to “inappropriately touch him and tried to negotiate with him".

Ayushmann Khurrana recently opened up about his casting couch experience on the latest episode of Anaita Shroff Adjania's chat show.   He said that a gay director told him that he wants to see his private parts and feel them. Further narrating the incident, the 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan' actor said that he ended up laughing and said, "Kya baat kar rahe ho yaar? (What are you saying?) Are you serious?' I said no, it's not happening like that."

His other film 'Badhaai Ho' alongside Sanya Malhotra revolves around a unique plot. The trailer of the film that released recently has been a hit and has cracked up the audience. The film helmed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma is slated to release on October 19.
