Ayushmann Khurrana's Wife Tahira Kashyap Khurrana To Make Her Directorial Debut

VJ-turned-actor Ayushmann Khurrana's wife Tahira Kashyap Khurrana is all set to don the director's hat with Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment's (Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar) next production venture. Tahira is known to be multi-talented and in addition to directing a few short films, she is also a theater writer-director, an author, and a teacher of mass communications and journalism. The yet-untitled film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Tanuj Garg, and Atul Kasbekar and is slated to go on floors in early 2019.

Talking about their collaboration with Tahira, the producers, in a statement said, “Tahira has worn several hats…. from being the programming head of a radio station in the North to a theatre writer-director, author, teacher of mass communication and journalism, and short film-maker. Her incredible stories are rooted in realism and heart. We are delighted to back her debut journey and look forward to making many more movies with her.” Meanwhile, an ecstatic Tahira said, "I am delighted to be working with such incredible partners to bring a take on urban existence to the big screen. It feels surreal that something I had dreamt of for the longest, is finally happening. I’ve been writing screenplays for five years. It wasn’t an easy ride for me. I’m glad that Ellipsis believed in me, and together with T-Series, has given me a platform to breathe life into my script. I am truly excited about this new phase in my life and career.”

The untitled film, a warm slice-of-life drama set in Mumbai, is set to go into production early next year. Casting for the film is in progress and the makers are expected to officially announce it shortly.

Meanwhile, husband Ayushmann Khurrana, who is clearly beaming with pride, took to Instagram to share a heartwarming message for his uber-talented wife, "From writing books, plays and directing theatre productions to make a feature film now.
