Ranveer Singh is everyone’s darling currently courtesy ‘Simmba’ and the upcoming ‘Gully Boy.’ However, the actor’s recent video is a fitting reminder of the time when he wasn’t. As his controversial but immensely successful movie ‘Padmaavat’ completed one year of release, the actor gave us a dose of his Alauddin Khilji avatar in a throwback video.

In the video from the vanity van, the ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ star is singing and grooving to the song ‘Makeba’ from Jain which plays in the background. Ranveer doesn’t dance the same way as he does in the song ‘Khalibali’ from the movie, but still looked completely in his menacing character. You just need to look into his eyes to know that he is already in Khilji mode, though he’s just chilling actually.

From the wound of his face, heavy beard, long locks, rings, chain and his outfit, there couldn’t have been a better way to remember his character and the movie on the completion of one year of its release.

Ranveer captioned the post, “Bad man having a good time" and his wordplay was on point by terming himself Alauddin ‘Chill-ji.’

'Padmaavat', also starring Ranveer's wife Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie, based on the 16th century epic poem 'Padmavat', was a part of headlines for protests from Karni Sena and other fringe outfits, battle with the censor board and delayed release. The film was, however, a big success at the box office, earning more than Rs 300 crore at the Indian box office.
