Content sells and not stars! That seems to be the latest trend in Bollywood, as big films turned out to be duds and smaller movies proved a windfall for the producers recently. One such venture in the latter category, ‘Badla’, has now completed 50 days at the box office. The members of the team were delighted with the milestone as producer Shah Rukh Khan conveyed his gratitude to the lead actors Amitabh Bachchan-Taapsee Pannu and director Sujoy Ghosh. The actress posted a superhero-inspired post on how the movie survived, exactly 50 days, from hitting the theatres on March 8 with ‘Captain Marvel' to ‘Avengers: Endgame’, that released on Friday.

Taapsee tweeted, “From Captain Marvel to Avengers..... We survived. #50DaysOfBadla."

Earlier, SRK wrote on Twitter, “Thk u everyone for giving so much love to Badla. Congratulations to the whole team & especially @SrBachchan @taapsee @sujoy_g on 50 Days!”

‘Badla’ is a suspense thriller set around a murder, with Taapsee's character one of those getting embroiled in the investigation, and lawyer Big B trying to arrive at the truth. The film was unanimously lauded by critics and audiences alike as the movie showed tremendous growth initially and stability later on to earn close to Rs 90 crore at the domestic box office.

‘Badla’ is only the second film this year to complete 50 days at the box office after ‘Uri: The Surgical Stirke.’

Previously, the SRK-Big B banter over the film had made headlines. The latter was unhappy over the lack of talk about the success while ‘King Khan’ quipped he was waiting outside the megastar's bungalow for him to give a party.
