Bollywood News

“Badla lena har baar sahi nahi hota, lekin Maaf kar dena har baar sahi nahi hota" in Amitabh Bachchan’s voice is what the trailer of Sujoy Ghosh's ‘Badla’ starts off with. The story is about Taapsee Pannu who gets embroiled in the death of her boyfriend and hires invincible lawyer Amitabh Bachchan, who’s never lost a case in 40 years and is a master at gathering witnesses. Shah Rukh Khan is a producer of the movie.

“Badla lena har baar sahi nahi hota, lekin maaf kar dena har baar sahi nahi hota (It’s not right to take revenge every time, but it’s not right to forgive every time too) in Amitabh Bachchan’s voice is what the trailer of ‘Badla’ starts off with. The second part of the sentence is also a tagline as seen on the posters, and you know that’s the biggest clue of what the movie could be all about.

From the visuals seen in the trailer, the story is about Taapsee Pannu, who gets embroiled in the death of her boyfriend, and hires invincible lawyer Amitabh Bachchan, who’s never lost a case in 40 years and is a master at gathering witnesses.

She narrates the story of how she was in an extra-martial affair, and someone was trying to blackmail them. One day, when she had the ransom to pay the blackmailer, both of them were apparently attacked and she is arrested for her boyfriend’s death.

Big B will believe everything that she says, but lying to him isn‘t easy either. He figures out the loopholes in her statements and questions her, while she claims she is being framed.

Moreover, there’s another incident involving a car accident and the vehicle sinking. Is Taapsee innocent? The answer will be revealed only when the movie hits the theatres on March 8.

The movie is a remake of the 2016 Spanish film ‘The Invisible Guest’ and has been adapted and directed by Sujoy Ghosh. With the much-loved ‘Kahaani’ on his resume, the expectations from ‘Badla’ should naturally be high. Another reason for the same is because it brings Bachchan and Taapsee together again after the critically acclaimed ‘Pink.’

‘Badla’, also starring Amrita Singh and Manav Kaul, has been produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Azure Entertainment.
