Talking about the same, in an exclusive interaction with Republic TV, he said: "I don't think I have ever received a consolidated thumbs up for my performance. I thank Nikhil, he's responsible for it. You feel the energy when the film goes right. Batla House has gone right. Thankful to the honoroble high court for letting this film through, even though we lost Rs. 2 crores of business on Day 1. But we will make it up and we are really happy to be where we are."

When asked about how in 2018, John Abraham's 'Satyamev Jayate' and Akshay Kumar's 'Gold' had neck-to-neck figures, this year, there was a huge gap between 'Mission Mangal' and 'Batla House' first-day box-office figures. Commenting on the same, John told Republic TV: "First of all I must congratulate Akshay, very happy for him. His film has been appreciated so much. It's also a matter of timing, the Chandrayaan launch. I am sure the studio understood the momentum and topicality is very present. All power to him for that."

Director Nikkhil Advani too added: "The love that Satyamev Jayate got last year... and Gold, was shared. But at the end of the day, I would want even my daughter to go and watch the film, it's about space, women. Why not! Both films are doing well. As far as Batla House is concerned, it's an intense film."

John concluded by saying, "Business wise, our film... we are through with the first half in the first day. So, business viability wise, we are a profitable venture."

For those unaware, 'Batla House' has been made in the budget of Rs. 45 crores. The movie has already earned Rs. 24.39 crores in two days, as reported by trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Nikkhil Advani spoke about the reaction the film has been receiving and he said: "It's been very heartening and warm. It's a big relief... even though the film didn't open in more than 100 centers because of the delay in the court's decision, lot of places we had to hand-deliver the film. It's been great in terms of reactions. Great reviews."
