'Batla House' trailer | 'Johnny boy has smashed it': Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar go gaga, can't contain their intrigue

The trailer of John Abraham's much-celebrated venture 'Batla House' surfaced on Wednesday, July 10, and viewers seem to be really intrigued by the same. Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan and filmmaker Karan Johar came forward to praise the trailer.

The trailer of John Abraham's much-celebrated venture 'Batla House' surfaced on Wednesday, July 10, and viewers seem to be really intrigued by the same. The actor took to Twitter on Wednesday, July 10, and unveiled the trailer of the upcoming venture. In the post, he promised that the film will unfold the story behind the much-debated Batla House encounter.

The action thriller film which is inspired by the Operation Batla House that took place in 2008, stars John Abraham in the lead role as a police officer Sanjeev Kumar Yadav. It showcases the hardships of the 7 member team of Delhi Police who were dragged into controversy post the incident. While viewers are really impressed by the trailer of the upcoming venture, so are the Bollywood celebrities. Recently John's 'Dishoom' co-star Varun Dhawan put out a post on social media praising the upcoming venture.

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar also penned a heartfelt note praising the upcoming action-thriller. Describing the film as 'massively intriguing', he wrote, "massively intriguing!!! Congratulations to my fellow and close green lawyers for telling this narrative with flair! @nikkhiladvani @madhubhojwani @monishaadvani ! On point Nikhil and top form!! And to my dearest friend @TheJohnAbraham!! You are superb!!!!!"

The 'Force' actor also expressed gratitude towards the filmmaker.

Meanwhile, Operation Batla House, that took place on 19 September 2008 was a gun encounter between Delhi Police and Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. As per media reports, two suspected terrorists, Atif Ameen, and Mohammad Sajid were killed during the encounter while two other suspects, Mohammad Saif and Zeeshan, were taken into custody.

The investigation following the encounter led to arrest of a number of local people, leading to widespread allegations and protests by political parties, civil society groups, activists, especially teachers and students of the Jamia Millia Islamia University. 

The Nikkhil Advani directorial also stars Mrunal Thakur and Nora Fatehi beside John in the lead. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, the film is scheduled to release theatrically on August 15, 2019.
