South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh will make her Bollywood debut in Boney Kapoor's film opposite Ajay Devgn and looks like daughter Janhvi Kapoor can't keep calm.
Sharing the news on her Instagram handle, Janhvi expressed her excitement and wrote: "@keerthysureshofficial been obsessed with you since I saw Mahanati. So excited that you are a part of dad’s next film. Welcome!!!”
The movie will be directed by 'Badhaai Ho' director Amit Sharma. The story is a biopic on former Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim and the film will revolve around the Indian football team's glory in 1950s. According to the reports, the film will be shot in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and a few foreign locations.
“Syed Abdul Rahim’s story is a forgotten chapter in Indian history and I am glad that the makers are telling it through a film," Keerthy said in an interview.
Boney Kapoor also revealed a few details about the film. He said that it is a conservative love story that focuses on the couple's life after marriage. Kapoor also emphasised on the fact that Keerthy is one of the most successful actresses in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema and her presence would give the film an enhanced reach in the Southern region.
The dialogues will be written by Ritesh Shah and Saiwyn Quadras has penned the screenplay. Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta are the co-producers.
On the work front, Keerthy Suresh will next be seen in a Telugu movie being directed by Narendranath. It is being produced by Mahesh S Koneru under East Coast Productions banner.
Keerthy's recently released movies include 'Saamy 2' opposite Vikram, 'Sandakozhi 2' opposite Vishal, and 'Sarkar' starring Vijay which was directed by AR Murugadoss.
