With back to back hit venture Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty is riding high on success at the moment. The producer-director who has created a niche for himself by making grand, massy films is now all set to take a digital plunge as he is all set to produce an action thriller web series. As per media reports, during a recent media interaction, Shetty said that he is planning a digital debut and is soon going to come back with an action thriller web series which will be backed by his production house.

The 'Simmba' director reportedly further stated that the show will be mounted on a huge scale and thus taking time. He said that they have been planning for the same last couple of years and now have decided to start shooting for the same by the beginning of 2020.

Previously, in an interview with PTI, Rohit had said that he doesn't want to meddle with it by trying something small as he "fears to experiment". Known for his flamboyant style of over-the-top comedy and action, Rohit says it would be unfair if tomorrow he decides to make a smaller film "just to prove a point".

"There is a fear of experimenting. I don't want to cheat my audience. When they come for my films, they know there will be songs, action, and comedy. Tomorrow, if I make a small film just to prove my point, I don't want them to feel 'Oh we didn't spend the money to see this'. I am just worried about that," Rohit told PTI.

The man behind hits like 'Golmaal' and 'Singham' franchise, added, "I know if I make a small film it will not be that successful or grand, which is fine, but I don't want anyone to get misguided and spend the money on me."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shetty is currently busy with the fourth instalment of his cop series titled 'Sooryavanshi' which is scheduled to go on floors in May 2019 and will release on Eid 2020. The film starring Akshay Kumar in the lead has been making headlines as there is quite a bit of speculation as to who is going to be the female lead in the film. However, on an award show, Rohit Shetty went on to inform the audience that he will announce the name o the female lead in the next 2-3 days.
