‘Mowgli’ has played a memorable part in the childhood of most of us. The fact that the character has been revisited many times like the worldwide blockbuster ‘The Junglebook’ in 2016 says it all about its popularity.
And another Mowgli movie is set to freshen our memories of the much-loved jungle tale with ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’ set to hit Netflix next month. What makes this new venture interesting is the involvement of some big names, who’ve lent their voices to some of the characters.
We have ‘Batman’ star Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Freida Pinto to name a few, turning into some of the characters through their voices for the English version. And there’s also a good line-up of Bollywood stars who have come on board for the Hindi version. Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor are the ones to voice the leads.
The international stars and the B-Town ones came together on 25 November in Mumbai. The celebrities were seen together at two events, first a media interaction and later at the world premiere of the movie, where the stars turned up in their stylish best.
We see Christian Bale, Freida Pinto, and Andy Serkis, who is also the director, posing with the Indian stars Kareena, Abhishek, Madhuri and Anil at the event. Rohan Chand will be voicing for the protagonist Mowgli and he posted several pictures on social media.
The trailer of ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’ releases on 26 November and the movie hits the streaming platform on December 7.
