Box Office Bonanza: ‘Badla’ And ‘Total Dhamaal’ Reach Impressive Milestones, ‘Luka Chuppi’ Still Going Strong

Four weeks, four hits! That has been Bollywood’s report card in the last month. There has been one successful movie every week, starting off with ‘Gully Boy’ on Valentine’s Day to ‘Badla’ last week. The Amitabh Bachchan-Taapee Pannu starrer has now crossed Rs 50 crore-mark at the box office, while ‘Total Dhamaal’ and ‘Luka Chuppi’ are still going strong.

Four weeks, four hits! That has been Bollywood’s report card in the last month. There has been one successful movie every week, starting off with ‘Gully Boy’ on Valentine’s Day to ‘Badla’ last week. The Amitabh Bachchan-Taapee Pannu starrer has now crossed Rs 50 crore-mark at the box office, while ‘Total Dhamaal’ and ‘Luka Chuppi’ are still going strong.

According to figures tweeted by Taran Adarsh, Sujoy Ghosh’s suspense thriller has been outstanding at the ticket windows and earned Rs 8.05 crore on Sunday, which are great figures in the second weekend. The weekend collections with Rs 4.05 and 6.60 crore on Friday, Saturday, totalled Rs 18.70 crore and that has helped in taking the movie past Rs 50 crore to Rs 56.70 crore. The collections just show how much the movie is being lapped up by the masses.   

 

Indra Kumar’s ‘Total Dhamaal’ starring Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit and many others is the other movie that also hit a milestone as it entered the Rs 150-crore mark. The family adventure drama collected over Rs 5 crore in its fourth weekend and its total is now Rs 150.76 crore.

Kartik Aaryan-Kriti Sanon’s ‘Luka Chuppi’ has also been among the milestones. After crossing the Rs 75-crore at the box office at the end of the second week, the comedy had another impressive weekend, raking in over Rs 7 crore to take its collections past Rs 80 crore. The Laxman Utekar directorial’s total is now Rs 82.51 crore.

With movies like ‘Kesari’ and ‘Kalank’ expected in the next month, makers would hope the fireworks continue at the box office.
