Box-office: Here's how much Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday & Tara Sutaria's 'Student Of The Year 2' collected on opening day

Karan Johar's popular franchise 'Student of the Year 2' starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria hit the silver screen on May 10 and even though the film received mixed reviews from the audience and critics, the opening day collection wasn't that bad but a double figure.

The film collected Rs 12.06 crore on Day 1. Will it score high or drop during the weekend?

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle and wrote: "#StudentOfTheYear2 puts up a fairly good total on Day 1... Biz slowed down towards evening shows... Sat and Sun crucial... Substantial growth - especially at plexes - is essential for a healthy total... Fri ₹ 12.06 cr. India biz. #SOTY2 is Tiger’s second highest opener *so far*." [sic]

'Student of the Year 2' is the sequel to the 2012 hit 'Student of the Year', which marked the Bollywood debut of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The film is directed by Punit Malhotra while Karan Johar's Dharma Production is backing the project.
