YouTube sensation Lilly Singh becomes the first woman to host a late-night show titled 'A Little Late with Lilly Singh'. The show will air in September.
This move comes after Carson Daly announced that he is stepping down from his role as a host of NBC's 'Last Call' late night show.
Lilly Singh's close friend and 'Quantico' star Priyanka Chopra wished the 'first ever Indian-Canadian bisexual woman of colour' in the most special way. Sharing a picture of them together, Priyanka wrote: "So proud of @iisuperwomanii... First woman... of colour... to be late night show host...Break them barriers baby! So proud".
With over 14 million followers on YouTube, Lilly Singh made her big announcement on Jimmy Fallon's show. She said, '"I'm so excited because I truly get to create a show from scratch. I get to make it inclusive... and create something I really believe in."
Priyanka's husband Nick Jonas also wished the star.
Priyanka Chopra's co-star from 'Baywatch' Dwayne Johnson also congratulated Lilly. He wrote: "She’s come a long way! Proud of you sis!"
Lilly Singh also attended Priyanka Chopra's wedding in Udaipur last year.
Singh's show will be a half-hour program and she will be conducting in-studio interviews with a variety of guests. She will also create and star in pre-taped comedy sketches and signature segments, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Born to Indian parents in Canada, Singh is known as Superwoman among her fans. She has over 14 million followers on YouTube.
