Ranveer Singh, who had a fantastic 2018, is all set with his next release for this year which is 'Gully Boy'. Other than the Zoya Akhtar directorial, he has also begun prep for his next film '83' where he will be playing legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. Some of the film's casting has already been done and now a new addition has been made as Kabir Khan and team have roped in a famous name from Tamil cinema.
Kollywood actor Jiiva has been roped in as the part of the historical sports drama. This will be his debut in Bollywood and he will be playing the role of all-rounder cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth, who has also been a captain for the national side. The cricketer played a pivotal role during the 1983 World Cup final against West Indies as he was the highest scorer in the match for India.
For those who are unaware, Jiiva is a pretty famous actor in the Tamil film industry and has a flourishing career spanning sixteen with more than 35 films under his belt. Other than Jiiva, Punjabi actor Ammy Virk has been roped in to play Balwinder Singh Sandhu, the pacer who swung the ball that got India a crucial wicket in the final.
Other than the casting choices, the makers have also revealed that the film will be out April 10th, 2020.
