Ever since the teaser has been shared it is going viral on the internet with many netizens lauding Shahid Kapoor for his impeccable acting skills. A few also said that he fits right into the shoes of South Indian actor Vijay Deverakonda.

The teaser opens with Shahid Kapoor and his love for alcohol. It shows his different avatars — a topper in college, a doctor, a lover and a rebel but only has one problem — short temper.

The movie is jointly produced by Cine1 Studios and T-Series. The film which is an official remake of Telegu film 'Arjun Reddy' stars Kiara Advani opposite Shahid in the lead.

The film narrates the story of an alcoholic surgeon named Kabir Singh, who has anger management issues. He goes on a self-destructive path after his ex-lover gets married to someone else. The film is written and directed by Sandeep Vanga and is jointly produced by Cine1 Studios and T-Series. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 21, 2019.
