Of late, the trend of remixing old popular Bollywood songs has been on the rise. While some are of the opinion that it a good way to pay homage to the original version and promote it among the younger generation, while some are of the opinion that the originals should be left untouched. Despite such songs facing constant comparisons, Bollywood's obsession with remixes continues to stay intact.

And the latest song to join the remix bandwagon is the classic song from 'Pakeezah' (1972), 'Chalte Chalte, Yun Hi Koi Mil Gaya Tha' featuring Meena Kumari. While the original song was composed by Ghulam Mohammed and sung by none other than Lata Mangeshkar, the remixed version featuring Jacky Bhagnani and Kritika Kamra from the film 'Mitron' is sung by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam and the music composition is credited to Tanishk Bagchi.

However, the latest version of the song has not gone down well with Lata Mangeshkar who has not heard the song yet and is quite miffed with the idea of recreating a classic like 'Chalte Chalte'. Lata Mangeshkar, while talking to a publication said that she does not want to listen to the remixed song as the trend of remixing old songs saddens her. The legendary singer questioned the creativity in simply lifting acknowledged, beloved classics and shuffling the notes around. The legendary singer also questioned that with whose consent, the lyrics of the song were changed in the remixed version.
