Chandrayaan 2: ISRO Sends Wishes To Akshay Kumar For 'Mission Mangal', Here's What The Actor Replied

  • In what was a much awaited date, ISRO on Thursday announced that Chandrayaan 2 is scheduled for  launching on July 22 at 02:43 PM.

Akshay Kumar flew down from London for a day recently to launch the trailer of his upcoming film 'Mission Mangal', also starring Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan,Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi, Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari. The film which is based on the real-life story of the Indian Space Research Organisation's Mars Orbiter Mission showcases how India, despite having its own challenges successfully managed to launch its spacecraft in Mars' orbit.

Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle post the trailer launch and wrote a heartfelt message to the Indian Space Research Organisation. In return, ISRO congratulated the team of 'Mission Mangal'.

In what was a much awaited date, ISRO on Thursday announced that Chandrayaan 2 is scheduled for  launching on July 22 at 02:43 PM. Taking to Twitter, ISRO said that the launch that was called off due to technical snag  is now rescheduled. On July 15, ISRO said that there was a technical snag observed in launch vehicle system at T-56 and 24 seconds, after which first the countdown was stopped and then the launching of India's moon mission was delayed. It announced that the launch of Chandrayaan 2 has been postponed for the day as a measure of abundant precaution.

For those unaware, Mars Orbiter Mission’, also known as the Mangalyaan mission in 2014 had made India only the fourth country in the world and the first Asian to reach Mars.
