Chandrayaan-2: Sushant Singh Rajput Celebrates India's Second Impending Lunar Mission, Says 'just Can’t Wait'

Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput put up a post on social media to celebrate India's second Moon Mission- Chandrayaan-2.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to create history with its second lunar mission- Chandrayaan-2, as the 20-hour countdown for the launch of the spacecraft from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh began on Sunday morning. Ahead of the massive launch, Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput put up a post on social media to celebrate the occasion. Sharing a picture of the preparations of the launch, the actor extended best wishes to ISRO for the same and said that he 'just can't wait' for it.

'Chandrayaan-2' aims to go where no country has ever gone before, the Moon’s south pole region. The main aim of this effort is to improve the understanding of the Moon, and doing so, according to ISRO, will benefit India and humanity as a whole. These insights and experiences aimed at a paradigm shift in how lunar expeditions will be approached for years to come — propelling further voyages into the farthest frontiers.

The country's second lunar spacecraft will be launched onboard a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mk-III from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh at 2:51 am on Monday. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said that the countdown started at 6.51 am today.

This is for the first time in history, a space mission is directed by a woman in ISRO. The leading ladies of the second lunar mission are Muthyya Vanitha and Ritu Karidhal who heading and directing the project respectively.

Earlier on the day, actor Akshay Kumar also extended best wishes to ISRO and the women behind the much-anticipated space mission.
