‘Chartbuster’: Netizens Give Thumbs Up To First Song ‘Sanu Kehndi’ From Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari’

Akshay Kumar's ‘Kesari’ has rightly created buzz that one of the most anticipated films of the year ought to have generated. The trailer, released a few days ago, had set social media on fire and not just netizens, even celebrities had lauded it. Now, the first song from the movie titled ‘Sanu Kehndi’ has been unveiled and it is set to raise the raise anticipation further for the war drama.

‘Kesari’ has rightly created buzz that one of the most anticipated films of the year ought to have generated. The trailer, released a few days ago, had set social media on fire and not just netizens, even celebrities had lauded it. Now, the first song from the movie titled ‘Sanu Kehndi’ has been unveiled and it is set to raise the raise anticipation further for the war drama.

Unlike the intense trailer, filled with war sequences, this video sees Akshay and the other members of the Sikh Batallion enjoying an evening filled with song and dance at their base. From the catchy beats involving playing of the dhols to the actor leading his team with some interesting moves, the track looks likely to become popular in due course. The lyrics are from the point of a view of a woman who asks her lover to buy her bangles, anklets, Punjabi suit while also expressing her tantrums and anger.       

‘Sanu Kehndi’ has been composed by Tanishk Bagchi, known for several chartbuster recreations, and is rendered by Romy and Brijesh Shandilya. Lyrics have been penned by Kumaar.

'Kesari' is based on the Battle of Saragarhi that was fought between 21 soldiers of the Sikh Regiment of British Indian Army against 10,000 Afghans in 1897. The movie also stars Parineeti Chopra and has been directed by Anurag Singh, produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, Cape of Good Films and Azure Entertainment. 'Kesari' hits the theatres on 21 March.
