Author and columnist Chetan Bhagat made his first public appearance on Sunday, November 18, following the misconduct allegations leveled against him, on the last day of the three-day Sahitya Aaj Tak at New Delhi. As per India Today, the '3 Mistakes of My Life' author opened up about his personal experience following the sexual misconduct allegations against him. He reportedly said that this was the toughest time faced by him and his family. Talking about the allegations against him, he said that he had a conversation with one of the accusers long ago and said sorry to her when she pointed it out. However, he denied all allegations leveled by the second woman and said that he has evidence to prove himself innocent.
Chetan Bhagat said that he has learned a few lessons following the incident and said that his wife is a strong pillar of his life. He learned that his wife was very strong and, in fact, stronger than him.
He said that he had asked his wife Anusha to leave him, but to his surprise, his wife reportedly said, they are like Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. They are 'Ardhanaareeshwar' a composite androgynous form of Shiv and Shakti, they are one. Following her reply, Bhagat said that he felt like an idiot that he was chatting with another woman and claimed that his view about his wife changed that day.
As per media reports, he further stated that he learned that people are with you when one is achieving success but only the real ones stick to them even in the tough times. He said he had also found it very difficult to face his mother-in-law who is a South Indian.
