Chhath Puja 2021: Amitabh Bachchan, Pankaj Tripathi & others wish fans on the occasion

The auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja which is dedicated to Surya Dev (Sun God) and Chhathi Maiya, is celebrated by great pomp and fervour by the people. Mostly the natives of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and other eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh celebrate the festival with a lot of zeal while dwelling on the festivities. On the joyous occasion, Bollywood celebrities took to their respective social media handles and entended their wishes while asking fans to celebrate it while keeping their safety on priority.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan shared a graphic depicting a lady performing the puja along with his poster and extended his heartening wishes to all in Hindi. The post fairly translated in English read, 'Happy Chhat Puja. And to all those who have sent me best wishes on this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude. I will not be able to give an individual answer to everyone. Sorry, apologise. Mangalam Mangalam Mangalam.'

Bollywood stars extend wishes on Chhath Puja 2021

Actor Pankaj Tripathi who hails from Belsand village in Bihar was overjoyed to wish his fans on the special day. The actor who makes it a point to celebrate the festival with his family, this year took to Twitter and wrote, 'The great festival of connection with nature, social equality and solidarity, wishing you all a very happy Lokparv Chhath Puja.' 

Versatile actor Manoj Bajpayee who also hails from a small village of Belwa in Bihar sent his wishes on Twitter. 'Wishing you a very Happy Chhath Puja,' he wrote with folded hands emoticon. Earlier, Hrithik Roshan had also extended his wishes on the occasion of Chhath Puja 2021. He had wished his fans in Hindi, which translates to 'On the occasion of Chhath Puja, I wish you all the best (sic).'

For the unversed, Chhath Puja is a four-day-long Hindu festival that began on November 8, 2021, this year On the first day of the festival, prasad of chana dal (split chickpeas) and kaddoo (bottle gourd) rice is prepared on earthen chulha. The preparations for the festival begin straight after Diwali. Those who fast during the festival, eat satvik food (without onion, garlic) and consume ear only after taking a bath.
