This comes after the controversy that was going on rounds relating to the collation of the release date of the film with the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Bal Thackeray biopic- 'Thackeray' which is scheduled to premiere on January 23. However, makers of both the films seem to have settled the matter as they made the announcement following a joint press conference at Mumbai on Friday. On the other hand, 'Thackeray', the biopic on the political leader will get a clear release and will enjoy the perks of the Republic Day weekend as it will hit the theatres on January 23. Initially, the maker of 'Thackeray' had wanted to release the film on his birth anniversary as the perfect tribute but later decided on this date.

'Cheat India' starring Emraan Hashmi and Shreya Dhanwanthary in the lead has been written and directed by Soumik Sen and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar and Emraan's wife Parveen Hashmi.

The makers have dropped in the official trailer of the film on December 12 and the film looks promising from the preview. It seems to be a gripping ride filled with twists and turns as the trailer sees the actor luring brilliant students into writing exams on behalf of others with money while assuring them they won’t get caught. The students get greedy and laugh all the way to the bank and even get involved with girls. However, matters take a turn for the worse, when the law catches hold of them and the real action begins.
