The build-up to the Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone wedding is filled with delight on one hand, and mystery on the other hand regarding some of the important details associated with the functions. Except for the dates,14 and 15 November, nothing is confirmed. The venue, Lake Como in Italy and the couple wearing Sabyasachi Mukherjee outfits have been 'confirmed' via multiple sources and pictures and videos hinting at them. Though the wedding is slated to take place abroad, the customs are going to be traditional. The duo is set to get married as per Konkani and Sindhi rituals respectively on the two days.

As far as the cuisines are concerned, it is likely to be a South Indian one on the first day and a North Indian menu the next day. The menu will obviously be closely guarded as much as the other details about the wedding, but we still like to take a guess on some of the items that can make it to the menu on the basis of the respective cultures that the actors belong to.

For the South Indian cuisine, these items could probably make it to the menu:

Solkadi: This drink, created with kokam and coconut milk, is famous in Maharashtra and Karnataka. It is also considered good for the digestive system.

Bangda Fry: The dwellers of the Konkan region are known for their love for fish due to proximity to the coast and Bangda is one of their favourites, mostly fried in a spicy masala consisting of chillies, cloves, coriander seeds and other ingredients.

Prawns Curry: There are innumerable ways in which people experiment with prawns. From Feni, coconut milk, Malvani masala to their own choice of spices, people make and consume different variants of the seafood, which acquires new names simultaneously.

Kadamb: The food item is a different style of idli, but this is prepared with cucumber, rice, jaggery and coconut and is served in a banana leaf and with chutney.

Kolmbo: This is just another version of the more popular Sambar. It consists of a gravy consisting of daal and vegetables and can be enjoyed with chapati, rice, idli or dosa.

Gajbaje: Another popular vegetable gravy that is a regular feature at Konkani gatherings is the Gajbaje which is basically a coconut curry consisting of sweet corn, potatoes, peas, beans, lady’s finger and other veggies.

And on 15 November, these dishes, popular among Sindhis, could be served:

Alu Tuk: This is considered one of the popular snacks or appetizers among Sindhis and basically is fried crisps made of potatoes and spices.

Sai Bhaji: One of the most common Sindhi dishes, which consists of dal, spinach curry and vegetables like tomatoes. It is considered healthy and is usually enjoyed with Bhuga Chawraan, rice served with bhindi and other veggies.

Dal Pakwaan: The food item is a regular part of the Sindhi food culture. The dish comprises of a crispy Pakwaan, which is deep fried besan flour and the Dal is made up of Moong Dal and cooked along with tomatoes and onions.

Sindhi Kadhi-Chawal: Every Sindhi household is acquainted with this dish and it consists of a besan-based gravy filled with vegetables like drumsticks, cluster beans, tomatoes and is relished with rice.

Koki: Similar to the Punjabi parathas yet different, it is basically a flatbread made of wheat flour and spiced up with onions, whole seeds of coriander, cumin and pomegranate and a good spread of ghee.

Pallo or Kok Pallo: This food item is made up of a deep-fried Hilsa fish and stuffed with a green masala made up of spices, green chillies and more ingredients.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but it'd be interesting to see some of these food items making it to the plates of the guests. Apart from the Indian cuisines, reports of the couple flying in chefs from Switzerland have been doing the rounds too. Invitees are also set to be spoilt for choice, as apparently several continental dishes will also be served to them over the two days.
