The makers of the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Dhadak’ starring Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishaan Khattar have postponed the release of the movie.
‘Dhadak’, which was earlier scheduled to hit the big screens on July 6, will now release on July 20.
Karan Johar took to Twitter to share the development and made the announcement by unveiling a new poster of the young on-screen couple.
He tweeted, “#6monthstoDHADAK #dhadak releasing 20th JULY 2018! Directed by @ShashankKhaitan and PRESENTING #janhvi and #Ishaan @DharmaMovies @ZeeStudios_ @apoorvamehta18 (sic)”
‘Dhadak’ is an official Hindi adaptation of the Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairat’ directed by Nagraj Manjule.
The film is presented by filmmaker Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions and Zee Studios and is directed by ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ director Shashank Khaitan.
Janhvi and Ishaan have completed the first schedule of the movie.
The film was announced when Karan unveiled the poster of the movie on November 15 last year.
Sridevi's daughter will be facing the camera for the first time with this film. Shahid Kapoor's brother, however, has already worked in Majid Majidi's film 'Beyond The Clouds'.
