Elated Vicky Kaushal Says 'Jai Jawan' On Visiting Indian Army At Dizzying Heights Of Indo-China Border

After the raging success of 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is all set to don the military uniform yet again in the upcoming biopic on  Field Marshal Sam Maneskshaw. While gearing up for the upcoming venture, the actor took to Instagram on Wednesday, August 1, and shared a picture, where he was seen spending time with the Indian Army at the Indo-China border of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.

Saluting the armed forces, the 'Masaan' star captioned the post saying, "Elated to be getting an opportunity to spend a few days with our Indian Army posted at 14,000ft altitude at the Indo-China border of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh."

The success story of ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ is unprecedented. The film based on the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army over terrorist camps in Pakistan in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri in 2016, starred Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, and Mohit Raina, alongside Vicky in the lead. The film which released on January 11 emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year. 

Vicky Kaushal to star in Field Marshal Sam Maneskshaw biopic

The yet-untitled film is based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Maneskshaw, is all set to star Vicky Kaushal as the legendary military officer. The actor who has worked with Meghna Gulzar in 'Raazi' will be reuniting with the director for the project. The first look of the actor from the upcoming venture was unveiled recently and netizens were absolutely stunned to see the uncanny resemblance between the real and reel Sam Manekshaw.

What's next for Vicky Kaushal

Vicky Kaushal who have proved himself to be one of the most versatile actors in the industry with a variety of projects in the last couple of years has a plethora of films lined up for release. Beside the Sam Maneskshaw biopic, he will also be starring in period drama 'Takht,' 'Bhoot Part One - The Haunted Ship' and a film based on the life of Udham Singh, a revolutionary belonging to the Ghadar Party, assassinated Michael Dwyer in revenge for Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar.

On the other hand, it has been confirmed that the actor will be reuniting with his 'Uri' director and producer, Aditya Dhar and Ronnie Screwvala respectively for a film based on the mythological character Ashwatthama, a character in the Mahabharata who was among the key figures representing Kauravas in the Kurukshetra War against the Pandavas. It goes without saying that Vicky will be playing the lead character.
