Ranveer Singh, who will be next seen in Kapil Dev's biopic '83, which is slated to release on April 10, 2020, has played a variety of distinct roles in his career and has proved his mettle time and again. However, Ranveer's journey till he made his debut with Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010 was nothing short of a roller coaster ride. Take a look at the Simmba star's life before films.

Ranveer Singh's journey to Bollywood

Today, Ranveer enjoys a massive fan following, of over 27 million followers on Instagram alone. However, the actor might not have imagined this while he, as per reports, was working as a copywriter in an ad agency a few years ago. Ranveer Singh did a couple of different jobs before he became an actor. Born in a Sindhi family, Ranveer Singh's full name is Ranveer Singh Bhavnani, the actor dropped his surname reportedly due to complexity in pronouncing it.

Reportedly, Ranveer Singh got inclined towards the world of acting after an incident happened in his childhood days. Reports state that when he performed in a birthday party to entertain his grandmother on Chumma Chumma, he realised his passion for the craft and how much he enjoys doing it. He then decided to be an actor but also knew about the challenges that would come his way. So he focused on completing his education first, he went to H.R College of Commerce and Economics in Churchgate, Mumbai.

To pursue higher studies, Ranveer took admission at the Indiana University in Bloomington, United States. He completed his B.A in creative writing. Reportedly, Ranveer also did a part-time job in a cafe to support his expenses while studying abroad. He finished his degree and came back to Mumbai in 2007.

Ranveer Singh got an opportunity to work as an assistant director in Yash Raj Films later and grabbed it with both hands. He then started auditioning for roles and got roped in for Band Baaja Baaraat. Ranveer's stellar performance in his debut film was highly lauded by the critics and audience. Ranveer won several awards that year in the best debut category.
