Bhumi Pednekar has impressed one and all with her offbeat choice of films and impeccable performances so far. The actress, who stormed into the scene with 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha', won over audiences with her refined performance in 'Shubh Mangal Savdhaan'. To stand out in a film starring a heavyweight like Akshay Kumar is no small feat and Bhumi managed to do exactly that in 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha'. Adding another feather to her cap, Bhumi Pednekar has now bagged a role in Karan Johar's directorial multi starrer 'Takht'. The film which is a period drama is slated for a release in 2020 and also stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor in crucial roles.

During a recent media interaction, Bhumi couldn't contain her excitement about the project. The actress said, "I am very excited. It's a big one for me. It's a beautiful star cast and everybody is someone who I have admired as an actor. I am very excited to be a part of this magnum opus. I am also a huge Karan Johar fan. Honestly, it's still sinking in. I'm still dealing with it. I'm very nervous about being part of the film."

Vicky Kaushal, who also stars in the film reportedly said that he is extremely happy that he is getting such opportunities and is grateful for all the love that he has been receiving so far. He further went on to say that his confidence is boosted with every film he does and it has been a great journey so far. The actor will next be seen in 'Manmarziyan' starring Taapsee Pannu and Abhishek Bachchan.

Meanwhile, Bhumi Pednekar will also be seen in Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Son Chiriya’ co-starring Sushant Singh Rajput. The actress was also recently seen in Netflix's 'Lust Stories', a sequel to 'Bombay Talkies' (2013). 'Lust Stories', which is a four-part film each directed by different filmmakers like Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, and Dibakar Banerjee, explores love, sex, and relationships in modern India. The film garnered much love and appreciation and Bhumi's refined performance of a house help who has an affair with the flat owner was accepted with open arms.
