Ira Dubey of 'Aisha' fame exclusively spoke to Republic TV about the experience she had to go through hailing from a family of industry insiders. The actress in a candid chat shared her #MeToo story saying there have been instances where she faced similar situations. Here's what she has to say:

"We are privileged people because we have a roof over our head, because we have food on our table, because we are blessed with families, basic support systems and things that are basic necessities for lot of this majority of this country's population. We are very privileged. So because of my background, my family, my lineage, my mother and the respect they had for her in the industry, people did not try too much with me. But like I said, there were instances, there have been people who have spoken to me on the phone, who have mentioned what it takes to be in the industry and would I be ready to do what it takes to be in the business. I have dealt with it equally as a matter of fact and nipped it in the bud. There have been people in my life, there's been a person in my life who I found very forthcoming. It was perhaps an unhealthy relationship and I played equal part in it. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that it was something that I can just say that look this man did this to me."

Further talking about the ongoing movement, she added all those girls who may be experiencing something like this today, they know that they now have an option, they have a choice to say no, to go to the cops, to go to their support systems or to change their careers as there's always a choice.

"I am not taking away from the experiences women have, I am not taking away from things like sexual harassment that happen very rampantly because those are very important issues to me. I read about them, I feel very strongly about them. I have done theater work connected to them so I am not at all discounting any of that as a reality," she said.
