The much-anticipated political drama 'Thackeray' is all set to hit the theatres on Friday. Ahead of the same, Republic TV got in touch with the cast of the film including Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Amrita Rao where they revealed a lot about the upcoming venture and also about their other engagements. 

While having a conversation, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who recently starred in Tamil film 'Petta' along with Rajinikanth shared his experience working with the superstar. Talking about Thalaivaa, the actor exclusively told Republic, that 'he is a very simple man who has a charismatic personality'. The actor further stated that he is 'the superstar' in a true sense.

"If in our country there is a superstar, then its only Rajinikanth. I can't even think of any other. People actually do love and respect him."  Nawazuddin said.

The actor also talked about how celebrities and trolled on social media and drawing a comparison to how actors are treated in the South, he said, "Here, people say anything to the actors, toll them, but in South India, it's not like that. They do respect their actors and we should learn from them." 

"Here people keep on pulling-legs, sneak into their personal life, it's very shallow. It should be stopped," he stated further.

Meanwhile, the upcoming political drama 'Thackeray' has been making the headlines ever since the film was announced. The biopic that narrates the story of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, features Nawazuddin as the iconic political leader. It follows the rise of the political leader from humble beginnings to establish a political party as he felt it was important to get involved with the people to serve the people.

The film also stars Amrita Rao as Meena Tai Thackeray, wife of the renowned politician, along with Mohanlal and Sudhir Mishra in the lead. It has been directed by Abhijit Panse and written and produced by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and Shrikant Bhasi along with Viacom Motion Pictures. The movie will hit the screens on January 25, two days after the birth anniversary of Bal Thackeray.
