Director Rajkumar Hirani's biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt titled 'Sanju' has been garnering an immense amount of praises from both audience and critics ever since the trailer of the film was unveiled on May 30, 2018. Besides triggering the curiosity of the audience in watching Sanjay Dutt's life unfold on the big screen, the film is also one of the much-awaited films of the year because Ranbir Kapoor, who has notched up his acting talent with every performance in his previous films like 'Barfi', 'Rockstar', 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', to name a few, is playing the role of the acclaimed actor on screen. In an exclusive interview to Republic TV on June 17, 2018, The 'Saawariya' actor spoke about his experience while working in the film and also spoke about how he felt like playing six different characters on screen.

Ranbir said, "When I had started this film, I had just finished shooting 'Jagga Jasoos' and I was 70 kgs. So I had to go all the way up to 88 kgs so I took a good 4-5 months. I ate a lot and Raju sir and I devised the schedule of the film in such a way that we started with the old and we went back and we used to take a month and a half break between each look so I had time to lose weight and prep for the other part. So it felt like I was doing 6 different characters. His life is, like the tagline says, 'One Man, Many Lives', it is not really one character it is like 6 different characters, 6 different facets of this man's life."

'Sanju' produced by Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films in association with Fox Star Studios, is a story about all the ups and downs Sanjay Dutt has gone through his life and his journey to win the struggle over giving up drugs, his involvement in the 1993 Bombay blasts, and finally winning the long battle. 'Sanju' also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor and Dia Mirza to name a few. The film is all set to release on June 29, 2018.
