Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who has been hospitalised for recurrent pneumonia, is getting his diagnosis done at a suburban hospital in Mumbai. The 96-year-old, who has been in news for his health, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on September 5 after he complained of uneasiness and breathlessness due to chest pain.
Speaking exclusively to Republic TV, Dilip Kumar's wife and celebrated veteran actress Saira Banu eagerly hopes for his speedy recovery. When asked when is the actor's discharge expected, she said, "In Shaa Allah, depends on the doctors. Hopefully if sir is well, In Shaa Allah, we want to be home for our wedding anniversary."
The 'Devdas' actor's spokesperson took to his Twitter account, on October 8, to announce the news saying, "Want to inform you @TheDilipKumar has been admitted to hospital last night. He's being treated for recurrent pneumonia. Praying...will keep you updated on twitter. --FF (@faisalMouthshut)."
However, ever since this news hit the stands, the hospital staff has been getting constant calls from fans and his well-wishers. Talking about the same, the spokesperson tweeted, "Saira Baaji and Lilavati hospital staff are flooded with calls. Pls. do not call enquiring abt @TheDilipKumar Saab’s health. Let them attend to their work. All health updates will be posted on here. Thank you for your prayers and understanding. -FF."
Since 2017, Dilip Kumar has made frequent visits to the hospital for suffering from viral fever and dehydration previously. There was also reports of his kidney discrepancies where he was kept under observation before getting discharge. However, his wife Saira Banu did not leave any stone unturned to be by his side as a pillar of support.
