Exclusive: Soundarya Sharma Refutes Rumours Stating That She Will Star In Gal Gadot's 'Wonder Woman 1984'

It was recently reported that 'Ranchi Diaries' actress Soundarya Sharma had bagged a role in the Gal Gadot starrer 'Wonder Woman 1984'. However, in a Republic TV exclusive, the actress has refuted these rumours.

Much to the delight of fans in India, it was recently reported that 'Ranchi Diaries' actress Soundarya Sharma had bagged a role in Gal Gadot starrer 'Wonder Woman 1984'. A number of publications quoted the actress saying that it is nothing less than a dream come true for her. Reports suggested that she further went on to say that it was exhilarating to be a part of such a larger than life film where one gets an opportunity to play a dream role. As per reports, the actress went on to state that she has always dreamt of playing such a character. It was reported that Soundarya Sharma will begin shooting for the film in October 2018.

Soundarya Sharma is, however, dumbfounded by the news of her being cast in the Hollywood film. In a Republic TV exclusive, the actress revealed that the rumour initiated during one of her interviews whereby she quoted that it would be like a dream if she would play a coming part of such a larger than life character in a film like 'Wonder Woman'. The rumours were further fueled by her Instagram picture whereby she is dressed up in the 'Wonder Woman' costume.

Talking exclusively to Republic TV, Soundarya Sharma said that she was overwhelmed but clarified that in the given moment there is nothing confirmed on her being a part of the venture. 'Wonder Woman 1984' also stars Pedro Pascal who is best known for playing the role of Oberyn Martell in HBO’s 'Game of Thrones' and DEA agent Javier Peña in Netflix’s series 'Narcos'. Additionally, 'Wonder Woman 1984' also stars Kristen Wiig and Chris Pine. The film marks Gal Gadot's return as an Amazonian warrior goddess Princess Diana aka Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot had earlier taken to Instagram to share her look in 'Wonder Woman 1984'. She captioned the picture saying, "She's back... 🙅🏻‍♀️ #WW84."

'Wonder Woman' based on the DC Comic character of the same name received a rave response when it hit the screens in 2017. The second installment of the film will see Wonder Woman facing off with an all-new foe, The Cheetah. The Patty Jenkins directorial is slated for a November 1, 2019 release.
