EXCLUSIVE | Tanushree Dutta: All kinds of pressure tactics are being used to shut me up 

An incident that took place in 2008 on the sets on ‘Horn Ok Please’ has resurfaced and how. Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of misconduct on the sets of a song that was being shot for the film. While many celebrities have come out in support of the actress, Nana Patekar has denied all allegations charged against him. 

Republic exclusively spoke to Tanushree regarding the ongoing claims of legal notice being sent to her by Nana Patekar’s advocate Rajendra Shirodkar, here’s what she said, 

“Contrary to constant claims of legal notice. I have not received nor acknowledged receipt of any legal notice. This is just bluff being pulled to distract people from the topic, create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation for other people who want to come forward and share the stories of their experience with Nana. Meanwhile, all kinds of pressure tactics are being used to shut me up.”

Tanushree, who has been keeping unwell ever since the news resurfaced has previously mentioned that it is not just a news story anymore but a war countless millions are fighting. Talking about what happened back in 2008, the actress recalled, “I had lost my phone while on the spiritual path in an ashram. I lost all the film industry contacts I had in 2010 and I didn't bother to get them back. I got a new number and a new life for myself. All these witnesses are coming forward on their own.”

Along with Nana Patekar, the actress also lashed out at choreographer Ganesh Acharya for pressurising her to do an intimate sequence in the song. The actress also accused producer Sami Siddiqui and director Rakesh Sarang for harassing her on the sets of the film. Recalling another incident, Tanushree reportedly opened up about an incident that took place while she was shooting for 'Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets' wherein the director of the film asked her to take off her clothes and dance for he co-star Irrfan Khan to give the required expressions for a close-up shot. However, Tanushree mentioned that her co-stars Irrfan Khan and Suniel Shetty took a stand for her as Irrfan shot back at the director saying that he did not need her to do any such thing and that he knew how to act, while Shetty reprimanded the director for asking Dutta to do so, as reported.   

Meanwhile, Nana Patekar has demanded a written apology from Tanushree and if she fails to do so they will file a criminal complaint or civil suit against her.
