EXCLUSIVE | Tanushree Dutta To File Police Complaint Against Rakhi Sawant Post Defamation Case

Tanushree Dutta may have won her inner battle of coming out in the open to talk about her #MeToo story once again but there's one battle that refuses to die down. The actress, who has lodged an FIR against the accused Nana Patekar, director Rakesh Sarang, producer Samee Siddiqui and choreographer Ganesh Acharya, will now be filing a police complaint against Rakhi Sawant.

Rakhi replaced Tanushree for the shoot of the special song back in 2008 from 'Horn Ok Pleassss'. Post the news of the allegations resurfaced, Rakhi held a press conference where she attacked Dutta and resorted to victim shaming calling her a liar. She also went ahead and called the allegations against Nana Patekar "cooked up stories."

In the light of the recent events, Tanushree filed a defamation case for Rs 10 crore on October 21 post which a notice has already been sent to Rakhi on the same. Now Tanushree will be filing a police complaint on October 26 against Rakhi Sawant. When asked about the latest claims of Rakhi filing a defamation case against Tanushree for Rs 50 crore, the actress' advocate Nitin Satpute commented that "this is not considered as defamation."

Taking to her Instagram handle, Rakhi shared a series of videos justifying her stance post the news of Tanushree's defamation case broke. Here's what she said, 

''She has filed a Defamation case against me for 10 crores I will file one for 50 crores. I will file a 50 crore defamation case against Tanushree for calling me a lower class girl. The original purpose of #MeToo is not being fulfilled. It is not going in the right direction and various girls are coming and taking advantage of the movement and the women that have not gone through anything are also coming and accusing innocent men. I feel bad for those women who have actually suffered sexual harassment and they won’t be heard out because of the girls who are lying''

Meanwhile, FIR lodged against Nana Patekar, director Rakesh Sarang, producer Samee Siddiqui and choreographer Ganesh Acharya under Section 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on October 10 sees Mumbai police investigating the matter in full swing. Members of CINTAA have already registered their statement which will be followed by two-three witnesses. Nana Patekar and others will follow suit.
