Eros Now and Benchmark Pictures have collaborated to produce a 10-part biopic web series on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Titled 'Modi', the project will be helmed by filmmaker Umesh Shukla, who has previously directed critically acclaimed ventures like 'Oh My God' and '102 Not Out'. It is all set to premiere on Eros Now in April.

Ahead of the same, Republic TV got in touch with the cast of the upcoming biopic web-series, who opened up about their experience working on the project. The series will feature the Indian Prime Minister's life in 3 phases. While actor Mahesh Thakur will portray the current PM, Ashish Sharma will represent him in his youth and Faizal Khan will bring on screen his boyhood days.

Talking about it, the Dance India Dance winner, Faizal Khan said: "I got this offer and I was preety excited. The character I am playing isn't a small one.  This is the biggest project of my life till now. At the age of 21, I am getting to play a character who is 12 years old.. and who gradually grows old. I also get a beard later in the series. It is challenging and there's too much of responsibilty."

Further discussing about his role, he said: "I started prepping for this role, I was watching his videos day and night to get the character right. His body language, his smile, every minute detail I observed. Even when he used sell tea, it wasn't just the normal pouring in the cup and handing it over. He used to talk to his customer while preparing the tea. I have broken a lot of cups during rehearsals."

One thing you have learnt in this journey, "After reading the script, I learnt a lot. Not lot of people know about Modi's childhood. We have shot at real locations. Working with Umesh Shukla itself is a learning experience."

While having a conversation with Republic TV, Faizal further asserted the one thing that he got to learn from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Faizal concluded by saying: "Whatever he sets his heart and mind at, he will complete that task, even if he has to scarifice himself for it."
