Kangana Ranaut has added another feather in her cap with 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'. Not only was she the film's leading lady, but she also directed a good part of the film, making it a really big feat in her career. As the film is enjoying praise from the audiences, it seems that the film fraternity has been rather quiet, or so the actress feels.
In an exclusive interview on Court Martial on Republic Bharat with Arnab Goswami, Kangana addressed this silence. Speaking about the same she said, "It is being talked about everywhere, on Twitter, Instagram, that why is the industry is not talking about Manikarnika? Why is it being suppressed?"
She also had something to say about the controversies that were raised on some actors in the film not getting adequate screentime. Speaking about this, she added, "I've not come here with an issue, I've come here to talk about my film."
The actress turned director was also not very happy about one particular actress Mishti Chakraborty's allegation that she all but removed her from the film. Expressing her viewpoint on these points, she went on to say, "The producer has produced the film. He has invested money on me that she is our director, she is taking charge, who are you to ask me what should I do with my film? And who are these small actors, who are saying keep our role? Who is she?"
Meanwhile, controversies aside, the film has also been receiving some praise from the film fraternity. Actress Ankita Lokhande has stood steadfast along the captain of the ship Kangana and has supported her from start to finish. Not only her, but Prasoon Joshi, who is the CBFC chief as well as the dialogue writer and lyricist of the film was also all praise for her. After watching the film, he had said that not only has she performed tremendously as an actress but that she has also elevated the project to another level as a filmmaker.
