Earlier this year, the first look poster of 'Sooryavanshi' starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif sent the fans into a frenzy. Also because the release date of the film was Eid 2020, and Bollywood actor Salman Khan is known in the fraternity for releasing his films during the festive season. Khan announced his film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali co-starring Alia Bhatt. Titled as 'Inshaallah' the film was all set to release on Eid 2020, thus clashing with the Akshay Kumar starrer.
And now as per latest inputs, the clash has been averted as Rohit Shetty decided to change the release date of 'Sooryavanshi'. "I always thought of him as my younger brother and today he proves it... #RohitShetty Sooryavanshi releasing on 27th March 2020", read Salman Khan's tweet.
However, this decision did not go down well with many netizens who express their disappointment by using the hashtag #BoycottSooryavanshi.
"Sooryavanshi" is the fourth film of Rohit's cop drama universe in which Akshay is essaying the role of Veer Suryavanshi, a character that was introduced as an anti-terrorist squad officer in the Ranveer Singh-starrer 2018 film "Simmba".
Meanwhile, the announcement of the film was made in a very special way with Akshay making a cameo appearance at Rohit Shetty's latest release, 'Simmba'. A text on the screen which said 'Simmba as Veer Sooryavanshi', chief of Anti-terrorism squad revealed that he will be taking charge in 2019.
"Inshallah" marks the reunion of Bhansali and Salman after a long time, is an epic romance drama. It also features Alia Bhatt in the lead role.
