After a grand TIFF debut, 'The Sky Is Pink' is now all set for a theatrical release. "Being honest with the character was the greatest challenge. Because in the writing as well as Shonali's direction, there is a lot of sensitivity and nuance, and there are a lot of things people just need to feel and experience without you having to vocalize it," Farhan Akhtar said.

Further hailing director Shonali Bose, he said, "So, to be able to bring that out, it was very important to have someone we trusted immensely behind the lens- that is, of course, Shonali."

During the conversation, Farhan Akhtar further revealed how his perception of Niren changed when they finally met. He said while he thought Niren in real life will be serious and gloomy, he turned out to be completely full of life.

When asked about what he derived from the character he is playing in 'The Sky Is Pink', he said, "I do feel there are a lot of things that Niren enjoys that I do too, like his love for music, travel, food, and conversation, sports. When we met, we had a lot of things in common to talk about. He is a very very cool guy, and that was a nice thing to see, because when you hear the story or read that script, you think you are going to meet someone who is really serious and life kind off aged him in a certain way, maybe a little bit cynical or pessimistic about things. But he is not. He is completely full of life, very enthusiastic and always wanting to do something. I find that very infectious and amazing about him."
