Films That Fueled Deepika Padukone And Ranveer Singh's Romance

It's official! Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have finally confirmed that they are getting married on 14 and 15 November this year. Though the couple never confirmed their relationship or marriage before, their affair was a secret that everyone was aware of. Six years of love and togetherness, and being film actors, movies played a major part in their love story. Here's looking at how love blossomed and flourished on films sets for the power couple.

1. Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela

Love started brewing on the sets of this 'Romeo and Juliet'-esque love story directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2012. The actors showcased steamy chemistry as young lovers stuck between warring families, in the movie. The duo excelled in displaying mischief, teasing, lip-locks and naughty glances and we feel that love just got translated to real life as well.

2. Finding Fanny

Ram and Leela were lovers, but they could not take the next step towards the institution of marriage. However, their next film together, 'Finding Fanny' in 2014, only known to those who have seen it, gave them the opportunity to play a married couple for the first time. The fact that Ranveer was approached for the role says it all about their relationship status then. Since they had started dating for only a bit more than a year then and with the fickle nature of B-Town relationships otherwise, not many would've thought that they'd go on to replicate the role of spouses in real life too.

3. Bajirao Mastani

After only a brief time as a married couple in their previous film, this venture, again directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, gave them the opportunity to show on screen a historic pair. From everyday lingo and fun-loving banter in 'Ram-Leela', they turned a more 'dignified' couple in this one, emoting more with expressions, without using too many words, but with deep meaning whenever they conveyed anything to each other. It's a different matter that they met the same fate as they did in their first film together.

4. Padmaavat

Undoubtedly, the most controversial film that Deepika and Ranveer starred in together. Though strangely the couple didn't share the screen together in the film, controversy erupted over speculation on whether they will be seen together. Amid uncertainty over the release, protests galore throughout the country, threats were also issued against Deepika, with fringe outfits hinting at 'chopping'  her nose, offering a bounty of crores on her head and much more. While the actress put up a brave front against her detractors and even shot back at the fringe outfits, Ranveer, who was asked to keep mum on the controversy, later said he was filled with anger 'beyond control' on threats to his ladylove.
