'Kalinga Sena' a fringe outfit based out of Odisha, has decided to withdraw its threat on Shah Rukh Khan. The outfit had initially threatened that it will throw ink on the actor if he comes to the event. However, at the behest of Hockey India president Mohammed Mushtaque Ahmad, they have withdrawn the threat. Hemant Rath, the chief of the Sena has clarified that they would not attack the actor since they received a letter from the Hockey India president. In the letter, Mr. Ahmad had argued that if they do so, then it will give the country a really bad name and that it will also spoil Odisha's name in front of the international teams.

In the letter, the president had also stated that King Khan is one of the most famous actors in the country and is very famous in the hockey community. Plus, he starred in a film which promoted the sport which is 'Chak De India!', hence was the obvious choice for this event. The actor will be performing at the inaugural ceremony along with AR Rahman and Madhuri Dixit.

However, the Sena chief added that although they have decided to not go through with their threat, the people of Odisha have not forgiven SRK. The whole ruckus was created because of the actor's movie 'Asoka', which they allege distorted history and showed the Kalinga war in a really bad light. The outfit holds the belief that the film insulted the state and its people and demanded an apology from the actor for what he's done.
