Villa del Balbianello, Lake Como- Italy- 14 November

News of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone tying the knot came out and was national headlines immediately, but there were no pictures at all. The couple had kept all proceedings so highly secured that distant visuals of people at the venue were used to corroborate the story of the marriage. Later, after much effort, the only picture we got was taken in back view of the couple dressed in South Indian outfits for the Konkani rituals at the venue with white-themed decoration.

Day 2 was no different. Reports of the couple marrying according to Sindhi rituals surfaced but the red-themed decoration from a distance was all that was visible. Fans were getting restless to see the newlyweds and meme-makers were on fire regarding the wait to see the pictures. And they were not disappointed as the couple finally shared the official pictures where we see them looking beautiful in their South Indian and North Indian avatars from the respective ceremonies.

Arrival in Mumbai; travelling to Bengaluru for reception (November 18 and November 20)

Though not exactly a wedding event, the couple arriving in Mumbai played a major part in the whole journey of their wedding as it was the first time they posed for the media in India as spouses. It was heartening to see the smiles of the newlyweds right in front of us, after the single picture of them smiling shared from the wedding. While the couple dazzled in dark-coloured traditional wear in the first one, they complemented each other in light-coloured ethnic outfits for the second one.

Mehendi-Sangeet and more pictures from Konkani, Sindhi wedding

Though the earlier two pictures made the fans’ day, it was these posts from Ranveer-Deepika that set the Internet on fire.  The fun moments during the Mehendi and Sangeet ceremonies, mischievous sides during the Konkani rituals, applying the tilak and having food together and intense focus during the Sindhi rituals and looking into the sky together later, the pictures seemed out of the world with Lake Como in the background.

Bengaluru reception (21 November)

Deepveer then made their first official appearance as a couple in front of the media at their Bengaluru reception. The pair complemented each other’s styles beautifully in their traditional avatars and were all smiles for the cameras, which made it more beautiful.

Party hosted by Ranveer’s sister Ritika Singh Bhavnani in Mumbai (25 November)

Though it was not an official event where media persons were invited for photographs, numerous pictures and videos went viral. Ranveer went for a super quirky outfit with lights on it, while Deepika kept it subtler yet colourful. Their dance together and Ranveer’s heartwarming speech for his ladylove were among the highlights of this event.

Mumbai reception (28 November)

Again the couple were colour-cordinated in white and gold Indian wear and the pictures seemed to remind us of the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ poster of the leads. It was probably their boldest choice of outfits in the entire period, but one they pulled off in style.

The celebrations to Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding concluded in style with the reception for the film fraternity. The couple were seen in Western outfits for the first time in the fortnight of events related to the marriage.
