Bollywood celebrities including Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, and Shilpa Shetty celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi

As India welcomed Lord Ganesha on Thursday, September 13, devotees across the country are celebrating 'Ganesh Chaturthi'. The 10-days-long Hindu festival marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha. His idol is worshipped in the home and decorated pandals. Processions with bustling music and energetic dance are also arranged to add more colours to the festival. Several Bollywood celebrities have also taken part in the celebration and they are seen welcoming 'Bappa' in their residence.

Here's how B-Town is celebrating 'Ganesh Chaturthi' this year:

Madhuri Dixit Nene 

On Wednesday, the 'Bucket List' actress Madhuri Dixit Nene was seen welcoming Ganesha idol in her residence. The actress shared a picture on social media in which she was seen praying in front of Lord Ganesha, dressed in a traditional outfit. She posted the picture on Instagram and wrote, "Modaks, family gatherings, dance, music... Everything about #GaneshChaturthi makes me happy 🙂🎊 I wish this festive season brings you all countless blessings! #GanpatiBappaMorya 🎉✨"

Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan

Bollywood stars Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan who are currently promoting their upcoming film 'Sui Dhaaga' celebrated the auspicious occasion in an eco-friendly way. They worshipped a Ganesha idol made of dhaaga (lace). The actress shared a video on Twitter and said, "Celebrating this auspicious occasion with a beautiful eco-friendly Bappa made with Dhaaga #GaneshChaturthi @Varun_dvn"

Shilpa Shetty  and Raj Kundra 

Bollywood actress and fitness enthusiast Shilpa Shetty was also spotted welcoming Lord Ganesha in her residence with husband Raj Kundra. The celebrity couple was seen carrying the Ganesha idol to their house as a crowd followed them. 

Arpita Khan Sharma

Bollywood star Salman Khan's sister Arpita Khan Sharma was also spotted carrying Lord Ganesha to her residence. The wife of 'Loveratri' star Aayush Sharma was accompanied by her sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, as they both were spotted dressed in traditional outfits.

Sonu Sood

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was also spotted carrying the Ganpati to his residence. The actor was seen welcoming Lord Ganesha with all rituals on Wednesday night.

Sanjay Dutt

Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt also welcomed Lord Ganesha in his residence with wife Manyata Dutt and children. The family was spotted arriving at their residence with the Ganesha idol on Wednesday. 

Jeetendra and his son Tusshar Kapoor

Bollywood veteran Jeetendra was also spotted celebrating 'Ganesh Chaturthi' with son Tusshar Kapoor and grandson. The family was spotted welcoming Lord Ganesha performing rituals wearing traditional outfits.
