On Tuesday, veteran Bollywood actor and former member of Parliament,  Govinda attended a convention of members of tribal communities in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.

The gathering which had been organised by Jai Adivasi Yuva Shakti (JAYS) at Kukshi, was approximately 120 km from Dhar town. The ‘Coolie No. 1’ actor danced as fans reportedly demanded him to, following which the 54-year-old actor requested them to watch his upcoming films ‘Rangeela Raja’ and ‘FryDay’.

Directed by  Abhishek Dogra, the comedy-drama ‘FryDay’ also stars Varun Sharma and Digangana Suryavanshi in pivotal roles and scheduled to release on 12 October 2018.

Earlier in an interview with PTI, ‘Fukrey’ actor Varun Sharma said, “To do a film with Govinda, who is a legend in that genre, whose timing is impeccable was challenging. I knew it would be a learning experience and I can tell my kids that I’ve done a film with Govinda! I was very scared to do comedy with him”.

The ‘Fukrey Returns’ actor added that he, in fact, jumped at the opportunity to work with Govinda.

Meanwhile, ex CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani’s ‘Rangeela Raja’ also stars Shakti Kapoor, Digangana Suryavanshi, Mishika Chourasia, and Anupama Agnihotri in addition to Govinda.

While speaking in MP, Govinda said,

"I have not come here to participate in a political event. I have not participated in any political function since I left politics. I came here because of the affectionate invitation of these tribal people".

Speaking on the occasion, JAYS chief Hiralal Alawa said the organisation will contest 80 out of the 230 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. Congress leader and former MP Surajbhan Solanki and party's MLA Surendra Singh were also present.
