Guess who decided to gatecrash the IIFA festival!

You'd normally expect to be seated in the VIP sections of Centre court or working on coverage for the grand slam

Indian tennis legend Leander Paes' astonishing 23rd appearance at the hallowed courts of Wimbledon may not exactly have gone to plan, but like a true champ, he's not letting it bog him down.

While the world awaits two very intriguing finals, between a resurgent Venus Williams and Garbine Muguruza, Roger Federer and Marin Cilic, respectively, the 44-year-old Paes, whom you'd normally expect to be seated in the VIP sections of Centre court or working on coverage for the grand slam, isn't even on the same continent!

Instead, the Olympian has swapped one massive event for the other, by turning in his all-white tennis overalls and gear for a dapper dark grey suit and shiny blue tie, and gatecrashing the showpiece International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) festival in New York!

At the #IIFARocks concert, Leander sat next to none other than Dia Mirza and Taapsee Pannu, who is nominated for Best Actress for her performance in 'Pink'. The film helmed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury also stars Amitabh Bachchan who has stepped into the shoes of a lawyer. "No, means no" a dialogue from the film has been way more effective than one could think. It not only took social media by storm but also gave many a sense of reassurance of what's wrong is wrong and raising one's voice is prime. The movie was appreciated by both the critics and cine-goers.

From the picture, it appears that Paes is rather good company and has Mirza and Pannu engrossed. We wonder which one of his million stories from the Tennis circuit he's talking about!

Here are glimpses of IIFA 2017, take a look!
